We have fantasies about BOBBY FROM BOSTON. Mind out of the gutter, please, we’re talking about the SOWA vintage outfitter, not some random dude named Bob. But if we were fantasizing about a Bob, and he happened to be a style-challenged fellow with an open mind and an eye for the beauty of times forgotten, we’d drag him to Bobby from Boston and tell him what for: there, gentleman and hipsters can revel in dead-stock Levi’s, Lacoste sweaters, wingtips, and decently priced leather belts. The shop is also a wardrobe supplier for films and theater companies, which means every last corner of the place is filled with random ephemera to gawk at (old suitcases, vintage posters, sunglasses, mannequins dressed in ’20s gear). The ladies department doesn’t quite measure up to the boys’, but it’s worth a peek too, if only just to try on a hat that makes you feel like a modern version of Ava Gardner.
