We're waiting for our
man-on-the-scene to file a full official report, but early returns suggest that
Lady Sovereign may have to re-title her album. Something like, uh,
The Massacre. Hoping to duplicate the buzz that rocked outward from manhattan when M.I.A. came over for her first US appearance, S-O-V hit NYC last night -- but in the way a fly hits a windshield. As you'd expect, people are blogging each others eyes out over this one. Recaps

The midget also stopped by an East Village community station en route to her gig; if you feel like wading through a 100-plus mb file for a very off-the-cuff one-song peerformance, you can download the whole radio show
here. Somebody tripped her up with the "Ch-Ching" instrumental, but then threw on what is, for our money, a better track: "Sad Ass Stripper."
On the upside,
Harry and the Potters apparently blew the doors off the New York Public Library last week. Amy Phillips wants to ride their broom (!):
"I haven’t heard that much squealing since R. Kelly walked onstage at the Best of Both Worlds tour."
