Yeah, so, our second Andrea Gillis post in one week -- it's because we love you. You, gentle reader, who so very desperately needs a woman like Andrea in your life. The kind of woman who will drink you under the table and kick you out the back door before your crushing hangover's even begun to register. [Note to our death-metal people: she used to be the singer in the
Red Chord! But not
that Red Chord!] Andrea's got soul to spare, and earlier this week we posted the softest track on the disc last week -- mainly 'cause that's all the
Somerville Arts Council had up. But in the meantime Ms. Gillis was kind enough to hand over the goods: "Used Up," on the basis of which we'd put her in the league of pretty much any
badass garage-punk Shirelles-on-Red Bull band you'd want to name.
LISTEN: Andrea Gillis, "
Used Up" (mp3, OTD online exclusive).
Check out Andrea today for free, outdoors, in the sun,
at around 2 pm in Davis Square. And then you can see her for free for the next two Tuesdays at Toad in Porter Square.
