Late summer/early fall alt-rock release schedules are leaking like Karl Rove:
1. That new Death Cab for Cutie song is streaming
here.
Some people claim to have it as an mp3, not to mention a new Devendra Banhart song, too.
2. You can stream some of that forthcoming Banhart album,
Cripple Crow,
over at his new label.
3. Also, off the record, there's a new My Morning Jacket song
floating around.
4. Nada Surf are
doing it again, Dandy Warhols are
going down like disco, Pedro the Lion have posted acoustic and electric demos of a new song called
"The Devil Is Beating His Wife" at Purevolume, and Franz Ferdinand are offering a
live version of the first single from their new album.
5. Don't care what
Frank Black tells the NME -- we'll believe in a new Pixies album when they start selling
the Postal Service album at the Post Office. Also, if OTD hears that damn Kidz Bop cover of "Float On" one more time, we're gonna . . . what? . . . oh, sorry, that's just
Ben Lee.
6. MEDIA BEEF!
Sharon Osbourne vs. Boston Herald. (No, she's not mad that the Herald sent an alleged
libelous reporter to the ball; instead, it was something about an illicit photo of Ozzy.)
