Vegetarian gore metal rules. And
when humans do it, it's funny. But this post is our way of introducing you to the very best heavy metal band that ever barked: "The majority of grindcore orchestras have singers trying to sound similar to upset deranged animals anyhow so
Caninus have decided to use a real thing. Vocals are executed by two pit bull terriers. Both were rescued days before euthanization from refuges. Caninus - all strict vegans. It has come time really to allow the animals to have their say."
Since the
lad mags are picking up on these guys, prepare for worse puns than the one we headlined. Um, "Grindcore goes the the dogs," probably, but hopefully no one will sink to "Who let the dogs out."
Behind the masks, Caninus is Rachel and Justin from NYHC's
Most Precious Blood with
their thugged-out pups Budgie and Basil (presumably named for the
NWOBHM band and the
Misfits-beloved artist). New Caninus/Cattle Decap split is out now on
Wartorn, complete with
South Park-like commercial (
"HUMAN BURGERS 39 CENTS BITCH").
