Apparently the
THIEVES were just too damn American-sounding to make a go of it in their home town of Oxford - the one in England, not Mississippi. So they resettled in California, hooked up with a
shitkicking sleaze-rock label, and recorded a Stooged-out album -
Tales from the White Line - that's due in early October. Tonight bringing the longish hair and the wah-wah guitars to Bill's Bar, 5.5 Lansdowne St, Boston 617.421.9678.

Could
AMY MILES be the next Liz Phair-style
blow job indie queen? She's got a great sense of humor and solid rock credentials (in other projects, she's a frequent collaborator with SNL's
Amy Poehler and
Shudder To Think's Craig Werden), and her
Noble Hatch (Redeye), a paean to the first teenage delinquent to break her heart, landed her an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel's show last week. Miles is at the Paradise Lounge as part of the Boston Pop Underground Cabaret hosted by Ad Frank 969 Comm Ave, Boston 10 pm 617.562.8814.
