Bush, Cheney sing Loverboy

Taking a break from war profiteering and dodging that pesky special prosecutor, the veep and his second-in-command (who bear a noted resemblance to Cambridge agit-pranksters Ian Maxwell MacKinnon and Eric Zinman) are once again bringing their cabaret routine to Zeitgeist Gallery, testing out "new and corrected scenes and songs" from a timely Iraq-set remake of the 1986 blockbuster Top Gun, in advance of a fringe-festival run timed to coincide with next year's midterms. “Do you know the song ‘Heaven In Your Eyes’?” asks Cheney. “Though we believe the piece is prophetic of our current mission, our focus group will unveil material much more powerful than that power ballad.” Despite the fact that not a single registered Republican has ever set foot in Cambridge, the past couple Bush/Cheney cabaret shows have sold out, and The Bush-Cheney Top Gun Focus Group, as they're calling this one, is not likely to be an exception / Tonight and tomorrow at Zeitgeist Gallery, 1353 Cambridge St, Cambridge / 7 pm / $10 / 617.876.6060.
