Idolator editress Maura Johnston
- The New Yorker's Sasha Frere-Jones weighs in and solicits opinions on thephoenix.com's revisiting of the Post-Punk Pantheon, which examined the nine other records from the '80s (besides SOnic Youth's recently re-ished Daydream Nation) that defined the indie canon of the '90s. His thumbs up: Minutemen, Cure, SY, Smiths. Thumbs down: Joy Division. He would've added: Depeche Mode, Blondie, Gang of Four. All good suggestions. More.
- Idolator's Michaelangelo Matos picks up on our petition to require Joanna Newsom to join Harptallica, although we are slightly worried he thinks that the Harptallica ladies started the petition themselves. Since this is more amusing than the truth, we suggest nobody tell him. Coincidentally, the subject didn't come up when Idolator editress Maura Johnston showed up on FNX's new morning show, "The Sandbox," this morning. Her subject: the new rules of wearing band t-shirts to concerts. Sounds like she's gonna be a regular contributor? If you missed, here's her segment . . .
