The festival, which claims to be the largest of its kind in the Americas, has moved from Vermont to Connecticut and takes place July 8 through 22. The festival includes two weeks of classes in early music for players of all levels. Public concerts begin at 7:30 pm, except as noted. Tickets are $20, $15 for students and seniors. An all-festival ticket is available for $99.

Under the artistic direction of John Metz, the festival consists of concerts in various Southeastern Connecticut venues using antique original instruments and replicas. The festival this year runs from June 8 through 24. Tickets $20, $26 for reserved seating. Some evenings have pre-concert lectures, call or check Web site for details.

The oldest-continuing summer chamber music festival in the country is in its 78th season. Chamber-music concerts are held at Gordon Hall and run from June 17 through Sept 9. Sun concerts are at 3 pm, Sat concerts at 6:30 pm. Tickets $25, $22 in advance, $12 for students, free under age 12, except as noted. Visit the Web site for other ticket deals and information.
