The festival, which claims to be the largest of its kind in the Americas, has moved from Vermont to Connecticut and takes place July 8 through 22. The festival includes two weeks of classes in early music for players of all levels. Public concerts begin at 7:30 pm, except as noted. Tickets are $20, $15 for students and seniors. An all-festival ticket is available for $99.

Under the artistic direction of John Metz, the festival consists of concerts in various Southeastern Connecticut venues using antique original instruments and replicas. The oldest-continuing summer chamber music festival in the country is in its 78th season. Chamber-music concerts are held at Gordon Hall and run from June 17 through Sept 9.
