AS220 is a nonprofit community arts center devoted to providing a space for local underground artists to perform. The Jazz Festival in Newport, Aug 10, 11, and 12, will be held in the Newport Casino at the International Tennis Hall of Fame on Fri, and at Fort Adams State Park on Sat and Sun.. This year's lineup includes BB King, Al Green, Etta James & the Roots Band, Count Basie Orchestra with Nnenna Freelon, the Branford Marsalis Quartet, and the Dizzy Gillespie All-Star Big Band. The festival features a wide variety of food, from barbecue to contemporary. Tickets available through Ticketweb, phone, or at the Festival office in Middletown, RI. Reserved seating, $30 to $85 for Fri, $65 to $100 for Sat or Sun.
