Cape Cod's largest county fair runs from July 20 through 28. Open Mon through Thurs from 4 to 10 pm, and on Fri, Sat, and Sun from 11 am to 10 pm. Attractions range from a petting zoo to a blacksmith display. All headliners play at 7:30 pm unless otherwise noted. Admission $10, $8 for senior citizens and military personnel with valid ID, and free for children ages 12 and under. Multi-day passes are available. The Pops has been a Boston summer tradition since 1885, when the light-classical shows were knows as the Promenade Concerts. This year's schedule will be conducted (mostly) by Keith Lockhart. Pops plays at Symphony Hall and does some world-famous outdoor concerts at the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade (between Storrow Dr in Back Bay and the Charles River). The BSO Web site is confounding beyond belief, but as near as we can figure out, Pops tickets go for $18 to $85 depending on where you want to sit. Esplanade concerts are free, but generally crowded, with people showing up 12 hours in advance for the July 4 nationally televised fireworks extravaganza. Symphony Hall concerts begin at 8 pm, unless otherwise noted.
