Permanent collection includes European, American, Asian, African, and modern art. Highlights include a set of Assyrian reliefs from the palace of Ashurnasirpal II, Northern Renaissance and Baroque prints, and notable works by American artists such as Thomas Eakins, Frederic Remington, and John Sloan. Open on Tues, Thurs, Fri, and Sat from 10 am to 5 pm, on Wed until 9 pm, and on Sun from noon to 5 pm. Free.

The home, gardens, and studios of sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens feature sculptures on subjects ranging from Pan to Colonel Robert Gould Shaw (a 1997 cast of the memorial displayed on Boston Common). Through October, open daily from 9 am to 4:30 pm. Admission $5, free for children under 16.
