Surprise! You readers love the
MFA
. You loved it this past year, you’ll love it next year, you’ll love it the year after that. And what’s not to love? It’s a mishmash of history and beauty, taking the form of painting, sculpture, fashion, jewelry, Egyptian mummies, Andean textiles, pre-Columbian ocarinas . . . all forms of expression that are steeped in culture and serve as storytelling tools. Through the end of August, be sure to stop by their current exhibit, “Sumo: Japan’s Big Sport,” a collection of artwork dedicated to the large-and-in-charge wrestlers of the East. Admission is $17 for adults, $15 for students over 18, and $6.50 for ages 7–17. Free admission for members, of course.
