South Street Diner

Best-South-street-diner-2009

Jesus Christ, Boston. Once again, our lack of post-witching-hour hangouts is making us seem like a bunch of squealing and snorting chow hounds. THE SOUTH STREET DINER, land of the 24-hour jalapeño poppers and round-the-clock steak and eggs, only gets better as you get drunker. This hub for the intoxicated (and, subsequently, the hungover) has been nestled winsomely on the corner of South and Kneeland Streets since 1947, and reigns supreme as pretty much the only place in town where you can reserve a table from 1 to 5 am (for parties of three or more, making it the perfect prelude to a greasy wee-hours ménage à trois).
