Best Dressed Boston Band
Mean Creek

Apologies to all of the other well-dressed Boston musical outfits — you've all got style, no doubt. But MEAN CREEK — a local folksy, roots-leaning rock four-piece named after the award-winning indie film — meld sartorially as well as musically, exuding a polished-but-not-too-polished vintage style. The band — whose members are Chris Keene, Aurore Ounjian, Erik Wormwood, and Mikey Holland — has a sort of Annie Hall–esque, late-'70s New York look, minus any disco references. Think grandpa vests and skinny ties, green cowboy boots, flowing mini-skirts, fedoras, and belted, high-waisted shorts. They even look good sleep-deprived, as evidenced by the late-night footage of studio recording sessions they recently posted on their blog. Mean Creek's fashion testimony is one example of how it's often easier to spot creative, original looks in Boston's rock clubs than anywhere near Newbury Street.
