Somerville Theatre

Between The Slutcracker, the secret U2 show, the 2009 Independent Film Festival, and the Alt-Com festival, the SOMERVILLE THEATRE has had something for everyone. Who’da thunk it: that relic marquee, that claustrophobic location, wedged between the Davis Square T stop and a mediocre crêpe restaurant, and it used to be a talk-of-the-town vaudeville house and musical-theater mecca! The main theater has a balcony and a mezzanine! Tallulah Bankhead once performed there! Now, you can swig cheap beers and nosh on fresh popcorn while you take in a second-run flick or catch a rock show, or even chew on your lip while you watch the Babes in Boinkland take it off to the strains of Tchaikovsky.
