Best Restaurant — Chinese

Golden Temple

GOLDEN TEMPLE’s Web address is healthyfreshfood.com. It gives you zero indication of what restaurant you’re reading about, but it speaks volumes about the food you’ll find on the menu. The dishes here are always fresh, satisfyingly tasty, and well, pretty damn healthy compared with most other Americanized Chinese food options around. Order the green-tea buckwheat noodles stir-fried with mushrooms, peppers, scallions, bean sprouts, and bok choy, and you’ll wonder why you ever bothered with greasy, served-in-Styrofoam chow mein. Golden Temple isn’t as authentic as many Chinatown restaurants, but the soaring ceilings, chic E Room Bar, and expansive menu full of healthful options will keep you coming back.
