Best Arcade, Video-Game Store

Game Universe

Since the demise of Good Time Emporium and Aladdin's Castle, GAME UNIVERSE, out in Framingham, has been one of the few remaining havens for Boston-based video gamers. The store features essentials such as Dance Dance Revolution and Initial D, as well as pay-per-hour plasma TVs offering titles such as Rock Band 2 and Street Fighter 4. Game Universe makes its real revenue selling games to those who seek a unique, independent alternative to big-box bastions. Tuesdays are "Fight Night" — pay $5 to play any fighting game in the store. Even if you're new to gaming, the fighting-games clique is happy to help you learn and always interested in meeting new asses to kick (but in a friendly way).
