Best Street - Aesthetics

Comm Ave downtown

Zipping down COMM AVE is not unlike getting roofied. One minute, you’re tearing through side streets in your old beater, content sharing your Cleveland Circle apartment with your seven roommates and a hamster. The next minute, bam! The blinding afternoon sunlight is filtered by tall trees, the sidewalks are peopled with smiling, attractive couples wearing Patagonia and walking their beagles/golden retrievers/labradoodles. And for some reason, you are inexplicably drawn to the yuppiness. You, too, need a beagle/golden retriever/labradoodle-and-fleece upgrade. You, too, must live in a brownstone, on a tree-lined street where the Christmas lights never seem to go out. And then the road splits and you’re barreling under Mass Ave. Back you go to Cleveland Circle, the college kids, and the potholes. Damn you, Comm Ave and your ritzy ways.
