Best Traveling Gay Army
Guerrilla Queer Bar
Perhaps this is what the pigs who passed Prop. 8 most feared: you're at your favorite bar on Friday night, but something's wrong. It's all dudes. More than that, you're pretty sure they're all gay. "Womanizer" starts playing, and you look desperately for some explanation, but find only dancing men. Buddy . . . you just got queered. Of humble beginnings, GUERRILLA QUEER BAR can now reliably count on more than 500 people at their monthly events, where they flashmob a "classically hetero" bar and turn it into a gay bar for the night. It's joyous rebellion, activism, and clubbing all at once, a social event mixed with a stern refusal to stay separate but equal. Five hundred people at any bar is mayhem, but 500 dudes looking to upset the straight apple cart with harmless mischief and serious dancing is a sight to see. All are welcome, though a sense of humor is strictly required.GUERRILLA QUEER BAR | bostonguerrilla.com
