Portland Museum of Art

Often just called "the museum," the Portland Museum of Art is now facing contradictory forces of fiscal challenges and new opportunities. The present biennial is the best-conceived yet, the new director has local roots, and the art world is brimming with latent change. The most interesting thing about the PMA is what it might become.
