Best Visual Artist: TIE

Christopher Michael Sullivan + John Bisbee

090415_Bisbee_m
After the wild success of JOHN BISBEE's Portland Museum of Art show in early 2008, he's opened RedFlagg Gallery in New York City, is about to open another Coleman Burke Gallery in the front of the Port City Music Hall, and, after a two-month residency at the MacDowell Colony, has museum shows in Florida and Indiana. That's Yankee ingenuity!

CHRISTOPHER MICHAEL SULLIVAN is Maine's only art firm. It has a reputation for heady projects like selling CMS artwork over the phone and a three-act debate including 30 minutes of eating in silence. A write-in winner, we wonder if its next project will reveal a ballot-stuffing initiative.
