It's not the same in the bottle. You want it to be. Especially when you're not in Maine and you're craving it and wanting it to taste the way it does at home. But it's not the same. Old Thumper, Brown Ale, the seasonal stuff like Pumpkinhead. But it's the Export we're talking about. Always the Export.
Who knows what it is about it? How buttery it is. How smooth. A rich, full taste that doesn't try to overdo it, that doesn't try to showboat — no look at how amazingly hoppy we are, note how different we taste from other beers. None of that. No bells or whistles. Just a simple, delicious, glowing golden beer.
