Despite the poor economy -- or perhaps because of it -- Portlanders are focused on buying local, and on supporting the region's independent retailers and restaurants. The organization that champions that cause, PORTLAND BUY LOCAL, is growing strong in its third year. They'll hand out their Indie Biz awards on May 20.
