Zombie Kickball

best_readers_City_PublicEvent_ZombieKickball_475

What started in 2006 as small cult gathering of undead athletes on the Eastern Promenade, frightening unsuspecting children and pissing off Parks Department workers, has expanded into a full-fledged family-friendly tradition. Presaged by downtown zombie flash mobs and concerts and followed by barbecues and all-ages after-parties, the ever-increasing publicity surrounding ZOMBIE KICKBALL hasn't done anything to dampen the absurd, anarchic fun of the game, the only good reason to lather yourself in lacquer and dyed chocolate syrup in the thick of a Portland summer.
