Chazan Gallery
Most art galleries like to deal with and present work from the stable of artists they've developed and worked with over the years. It's just easier. But the CHAZAN GALLERY is an exception. The non-profit artists' space makes a practice of selecting work through an open jury process, attracting artists who live or work in the greater Providence area. The gallery is located on the campus of the Wheeler School, near Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design. Slides of work are solicited every fall from artists working in all media, to be judged by guest panels that change every year. Five or six exhibitions are presented during a September-through-April season.
