Best Head-Scratching Time At Breakfast
Blue Elephant
You're bound to have a hard time at BLUE ELEPHANT, because there are so many interesting items to choose among. Want just plain old bacon and eggs? Try resisting tempting add-ons like salmon for $2.50 extra and an onion bialy for $1.50. Eggs Benedict? There are four variations on the traditional version, also available, and none of them are the common alternative, eggs Florentine (although the Pig's Nest has sausage and spinach). There are 17 omelets ($7.50-$7.95), each named for an artist — the El Greco includes olive tapenade and feta. But the specialties are the most interesting: Two to Tango ($13.95), a whole bread loaf thick-sliced into two platters of French toast; challah French toast, with Nutella, fruit, and pecans; the Sweet Señorita, with grilled cornbread under fried eggs, chili, cheese, and a sprinkle of cilantro.
