Matunuck Oyster Farm

Move over, Cupid. Perry Raso is hustling in on your turf. Everyone knows that oysters are an aphrodisiac. (Yeah, yeah, quibble over controlled-study this and folk-myth that.) He's shucking and jiving big time down at his MATUNUCK OYSTER FARM. Last year he raised and sold 400,000 of the amorous little bivalves. They are available at restaurants around the state, plus Whole Foods Market, Hope Artiste Village Foods, and from Raso directly for weddings and parties. Briny and with a sweetish finish, they are grown using the rack-and-bag method, which keeps them off the seabed, leaving them cleaner. Group tours and school field trips can be arranged year-round, with participants learning about aquaculture, even given waders to get closer to the process. Make any stupid Cupid cracks, kids, and Raso will whistle for the ravenous Matunuck steamer clams to get you. | 401.932.4942 | rhodyoysters.com
