Best Off-Da-Hill Italian Eats
Antonio’s Trattoria
ANTONIO'S TRATTORIA in Cranston received a makeover in late '07, its cozy decor accentuating the elegant comfort food coming from their superb kitchen, home to one of the best veal parms in Knightsville, the Little Italy of Cranston. Their swordfish presentation alone is worth seeking out: a mammoth Block Island steak (the thing resembles a giant veal chop) in a lobster and Saffron broth with some littleneck clams and al dente linguini. The main courses are bookended by great starters and sweet homemade desserts, like their signature banana bread pudding, and when the tiramisu is in stock, save room. But that's a difficult task when devouring the arancini (fried risotto cakes), beef carpaccio with shaved Parmigiano Reggiano, fried smelts, or the generous Antipasto Trio, a steal at only $12.95. Attentive and friendly service caps a perfect meal, whether at the bar or al fresco along Cranston Street. | 1710 Cranston Street, Cranston | 401.943.1932 | antoniotrattoria.com
