The best Mexican eats in Rhode Island boasts a bartender to match. The man behind the bar at CHILANGOS is Omar Perez, a mixologist who knows it all when it comes to tequila concoctions, from his infamous Beergarita to beer-and-tomato juice classics like the Cubana and Michelada. His McLovin' Margarita (a tart and tasty grapefruit entry) was a big hit last summer, but Omar's current libation of choice includes fresh-squeezed blueberry puree (Chilangos makes its own sour mix too) in his flavored Mojitos, margaritas, and a newfound favorite, the Huckleberry Hound, a spinoff on the Salty Dog, adding the blueberry to a frosted mug with tequila blanco, lime juice, salt, and Jarritos grapefruit soda.
