Best Use Of Sheer Black Silk

Mrs Robinson

The late, great Anne Bancroft never shopped here. But her character in The Graduate would have loved MRS ROBINSON, the high-end lingerie shop. Dustin Hoffman's Benjamin Braddock was seduced by Mrs. Robinson's shapely legs, but the sheer black stockings she was pulling on certainly didn't hurt. When the Robinson family opened this establishment in the 1930s, such a shocking use for undergarments was not readily acknowledged. The original clientele was elderly, but of the blue-haired rather than cougar variety. But current proprietor Melanie Elman is hip and helpful. If you aren't built for a cute polka-dot bikini brief, she'll break it to you. If you don't look good in that sheer Intimissimi demi-bra, she might suggest that one with bust-firming underwire would suit you better. Dustin would agree. | 187 Wayland Avenue, Providence | 401.831.7740
