Fire Joe Morgan
The baseball blog FIRE JOE MORGAN is marvelously snarky. On any given day, one might find a thorough and merciless fisking of the latest inane ramblings of Morgan (ESPN’s resident atavist), or an explosive tirade touched off by the latest ill-informed column puked up by some stat-suspicious hack. It’s not a Red Sox blog exclusively, but the team gets a ton of coverage there, and FJM’s best writer, “Ken Tremendous,” is a Sox fan (and Harvard grad), eloquently skewering baseball media’s dimmest and dumbest. So imagine the surprise of seamheads everywhere when this computer-savvy brainiac was revealed to play a Luddite on TV! “Ken Tremendous,” it turns out, is actually Michael Schur, a writer for The Office who also makes appearances as Dwight Schrute’s mute, Amish-ish brother, Mose. Seldom have one man’s online and onscreen persona’s diverged so wildly. Blogger on one hand, beet farmer on the other.
