Best Prohibitively Expensive Cupcakes

Sweet

sweet

With the economy in the tank, is this really the best time to be selling a cupcake for $3.25 ($3 when you purchase a half-dozen or more)? Well, try one of SWEET's Red Velvet or Carrot Cake varieties and judge for yourself. According to Nicholas Peruzzi, general manager of the cheery pink shop, cupcakes might be one of the few stable industries in America today. "People are eating more at home," he says, "and as a special dessert, they aren't terribly expensive. And as a gift, they are cheaper than flowers." They taste better, too. The basics include vanilla and dark chocolate, with seasonal offerings such as mango and Irish cream. Why not one for your dog, too? The Pupcakes, made of oatmeal and applesauce, cost only a dollar.
