CONTEMPORARY THEATER COMPANY

They joke about it. “Great Theater Since 2005” is their slogan. Yes, the CONTEMPORARY THEATER COMPANY are newcomers, but they are also up-and-comers. Princeton grads started it nearly five years ago as the Courthouse Theater Company, with Christopher Simpson serving as artistic director. He won a fellowship from his alma mater in 2009 to build the Wakefield-based theater company, which now offers theater classes. Last year these pages noted that their production of The Complete Works William Shakespeare (Abridged) demonstrated “that the bane of phys-ed majors can be more fun than a barrel of bodkins.” At the end of the year, their staging of the O.
