Best Place To Catch Tomorrow’s Bands Today
Firehouse 13

We recently asked a friend to meet us at FIREHOUSE 13 to catch local indie-folk superheroes the Low Anthem in an intimate (and pretty damn memorable) performance. When we informed him it was "behind the McDonald's on Broad Street," his immediate text response was classic Vo Dilunduh: "I don't care if Sonic Youth is playing there, I'm not driving to Broad Street at night." Wuss. Tucked between Broad and Cranston streets is perhaps the best venue to step up its game since the Living Room locked its doors. FH13 is a three-story artists' space that hosts a slew of must-see local and national acts, from Deer Tick to loud-as-all-get-out Lolita Black to the monster supergroup Megasus. Similar to Great Scott in Allston, Massachusetts, the elongated room has a small stage in the back and transforms any gig into a memorable experience. | 41 Central Street, Providence | 401.270.1801 | firehouse13.org
