The Christmas Revels
Revels observes the 40th anniversary of The Christmas Revels by returning us to the production’s original setting, Haddon Hall in Derbyshire. The time is the 1920s, and the 10th Duke of Rutland is paying a last visit to the neglected family manor. Which turns out to be haunted as well as neglected, since the ghosts of the previous owners can be seen preparing for their annual celebration of the winter solstice.
Patrick Swanson directs the 40th anniversary of the annual Revels celebration of the Winter Solstice, with George Emlen as the music director. The show includes the talents of Mark Jaster, Sabrina Mandell, the Derbyshire Children, the Bakewell Village Band, Saint George and the Dragon Mummers Play, the Pinewoods Morris Men, the Cambridge Symphonic Brass Ensemble, and others.
