[bmp video] Peter Wolf + Duke Levine + Bodega Girls "Looking For A Love"
Well, here's Wednesday's grand BMP finale.
As the Bruins rolled into the third period en route to a Game 7 Stanley Cup victory, the roof blew off the Brighton Music Hall well before Zdeno Chara lifted that 36-pound silver chalice over his head in Vancouver. In wrapping up a legendary night at the first-ever Best Music Poll awards party, PETER WOLF, DUKE LEVINE and BILLY BEARD hit the stage and joined BODEGA GIRLS and Nikki Dessingue of STEREO TELESCOPE for a blazing rendition of J. GEILS BAND's 1971 hit "Looking For A Love."
"I first saw the J. Geils Band at age 8, and remember them being a surreal soul powerhouse, with Peter Wolf leading the gang of ragged Bostonians as they made 'white-boy-cool' explode all over the stage," Evan Kenney of Bodega Girls wrote to On The Download this morning. "'Looking For A Love' from Full House was a mixtape staple for girls that I fell for in my awkward adolescent days. If you had told me then, that one day, I would be playing that song onstage with Mr. Wolf himself, I would have fainted right there in my Gibaud jeans. This was honestly one of the most amazing moments in my life. Rock n' roll saved my soul."
Amen.
While we were all busy rocking the eff out and losing our collective minds, both on stage and off it, thankfully JustBill.net was there up front capturing the magic. Props to him for the incredible footage, and again, thanks to all who attended and helped put on one hell of a party. What a night.
