Talib Kweli
Talib Kweli has gone underground, and not in the hip-hop sense. After years of being at the forefront of every massive new rap movement, he’s wandered off the grid, popping up every so often to reward his fans (that killer follow-up LP with Hi-Tek, for one) or puzzle them with an odd lapse in judgment (that limp Gucci Mane collabo). Although Kweli is, no doubt, trying to rediscover his niche in today’s muddled rap game, it would be easy for us to forget that he has a catalogue that stretches far back to his Black Star days and always delivers an on-point live show. Here’s to remembering both when, alongside Jean Grae, he comes out of hiding.
