Boston Bacon Takedown
If Forest Gump’s Bubba dreamed of owning a pig farm rather than a shrimping boat, his schpiel might have gone something more like this: “Bacon hash, fried bacon, bacon cookies, bacon cocktail. . . . ” Which reminds us that not only is everything better with bacon (everything) but the Boston Bacon Takedown is going down at the Armory this afternoon! Twenty local chefs will compete to see who can cook the “beastliest bacon dish of all time” in the most delicious (and artery-clogging) culinary battle since Paula Dean guest-starred in Top Chef. (A dude cooked her fried mayonnaise. She loved it.) The best part? You’re the judge. Sample all 20 dishes, cast your vote, and then go home and OD on some Lipitor.
