"Mixed Taste: Tag-team Lectures on Unrelated Topics: Robot Opera and Clam Chowder"
What do creamy seafood soup and artificial intelligence have in common? Nothing, and that’s the point of tonight’s oddball lecture Mixed Taste: Tag-Team Lectures on Unrelated Topics: Robot Opera and Clam Chowder. The basis of this brainchild of the director and chief animator of Denver’s Museum of Contemporary Art is simple. Two experts talk about two unrelated topics, and then open the floor for questions. Which they’ll field at the same time. And can be about, in this case, either clam chowder (Richard Vellante, executive chef of Legal Sea Foods), robot opera (Tod Machover, composer and professor of music and media at MIT), or some hybrid of both. Sounds just zany enough to be interesting. Plus, they’ll be handing out free samples of chowder after the lecture, so that’s cool, too.
