Okay, so there are a few tracks in the Bright Eyes catalogue best listened to with a straight razor and a large goblet of tears. Dude is emo, it’s true. Lately, though, Conor Oberst has been expanding his musical repertoire. Partnering with his scruffy indie-rock bandmates in Monsters of Folk was the first step in his path toward emotional rehab. But we’re hoping he’ll bring a little of the angst that first captured our achy-breaky hearts to his show tonight with the Mynabirds.
