If you survived the weekend’s science-fiction marathon, you might be up for an evening with one of the genre’s legendary authors. Samuel R. Delany brought deep philosophical insights to his Hugo and Nebula Award winners Babel-17 and Dhalgren while also offering a unique point of view as a gay African-American. He talks about these issues and more in Barney Taylor’s documentary The Polymath, or the Life and Opinions of Samuel R. Delany, Gentleman (2007), which screens at the Boston University Cinematheque, with Delany and Taylor in person. That’s in Room 101.
