Ol Parker tries to do something new with this romantic comedy, but the script, which he also wrote, is as unimaginative as his characters. At her wedding to her long-time boyfriend, cute, wealthy, self-depreciating Heck (cute but boring Mathew Goode), Rachel (Piper Perabo) catches a glimpse of Luce (Lena Headey) and is smitten. The film never considers the possibility that she’s a lesbian, instead subscribing to the “love at first sight, regardless of gender” school and ignoring the most interesting thing about its characters. Rachel and Luce flirt chastely while Heck wonders what’s going on. You’ll wonder too. Imagine me & you at some other movie.
