Nelly Furtado, Loose (Geffen). Her bid for a hip-pop breakthrough featuring Timbaland producing and the single “Loose.”

Frank Black, Fastman/Raiderman (Back Porch). Two CD set of new country tinged material featuring Al Kooper, Tom Pederson of Cheap Trick, Buddy Miller (of Steve Earle’s band), Steve Cropper, Spooner Oldham, and Anton Fig.

Pearl Jam, Live At Easy Street EP (J). Documents a 7-song performance at a Seattle record store in support of the Coalition of Independent Music Stores, including a cameo by X’s John Doe on a cover of the X tune “New World.”

Black Helicopter, Invisible Jet (Ecstatic Peace). The long-awaited (at least locally) debut by this semi-local band on Thurston Moore’s Ecstatic Peace label. 

Fatboy Slim, The Greatest Hits: Why Try Harder (Skint/Astralwerks). Features the new track and single “That Old Pair of Jeans.”

Plus, Luna, Best of Luna CD and Tell Me Do You Miss Me DVD (both on Rhino); Graham Parsons and the Fallen Angels, The Complete Reprise Sessions CD and Fallen Angel: A Film by Gandulf Hennig DVD (both Rhino); and Siouxsie and the Banshees, Once Upon A Time: The Singles, 1978-1981 and Twice Upon A Time: The Singles, 1982-1992 (both Fontana).
