Landmarks Orchestra: "Music of the Stars"

We’d be up for arguing that Jonathan McPhee is the best conductor in Boston, but for now we’ll just point out that his concert with the Longwood Symphony Orchestra is free and includes such goodies as the “Entry of the Gods into Valhalla” from Richard Wagner’s Rheingold and Mars from Holst’s The Planets and John Williams’s Star Wars music and Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G (with a Foundation of Chinese Performing Arts award recipient) and the world premiere of Gene Scheer’s Albert Schweitzer Portrait. It’s all at the Hatch Memorial Shell, on the Charles River Esplanade, Boston | 7 pm | free | 617.520.2200 or //www.landmarksorchestra.org.
