Lee “Scratch” Perry + Destroy Babylon at Harpers Ferry
Harpers Ferry
Notorious madman Lee “Scratch” Perry may be a 73-year-old musical Methuselah, but his Ital is still vital. Forty years after he unleashed his mocking, bass-riddim-driven 1968 single “People Funny Boy” (one of the first tunes ever to be dubbed “reggae”), he’s put out his 54th album, the Andrew W.K.–produced Repentance, which boasts contributions from Moby and members of the Slits, Lightning Bolt, and Matisyahu. Tonight, the Upsetter tag-teams with Destroy Babylon at Harpers Ferry, 158 Brighton Ave, Allston | 8 pm | $25 | 617.254.9743 or //www.harpersferryboston.com.
