Melting Siberia, with director Ido Haar

Boston University College of Communication

Hardworking Phoenix film critic Gerald Peary hosts the Boston University Cinematheque, in which notable filmmakers drop by, show some of their latest work, and chat. Tonight he's invited Israeli documentarian Ido Haar, who'll be screening Melting Siberia, a feature about his Russian-born mother, Marina, and her painful journey from Israel to the former Soviet Union in search of her lost father, a Red Army officer who vanished in the steppes. It's free at Room B-05, BU College of Communication, 640 Comm Ave, Boston | 7 pm | www.bu.edu/com/ft/film/cinematheque.shtml.
