Screening and Discussion: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006)
Museum of Fine Arts
Not to argue the greatness of Pixar films like Up and Wall-E, but there's something about hand-drawn animation that captures the soul. Still doing it the old-fashioned way (more or less) is Mamoru Hosoda, whose The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006) is about a teenager with the title power. It screens this evening, preceded by a brief discussion with Ian Condry from MIT and Susan Napier from Tufts, at the Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Ave, Boston | 7 pm | $13 | 617.369.3907 or //www.mfa.org.
