The Friday night busyness didn’t initially raise the volume level in the restaurant, because Pizzico has wisely installed acoustic tiles in the ceiling and divided the dining space into three narrow dining rooms with more intimate spaces. As the tables filled to capacity, conversation did become more difficult.
More vexing, though, was the disappearance of our waiter between courses. A lengthy wait elapsed from the time our entrées were served — by someone from the kitchen — before the waiter reappeared to ask us about dessert. Although irritating, this kind of experience seems uncharacteristic for Pizzico, which has long since succeeded in attracting a loyal following.
