Truck nuts
By PHOENIX STAFF  |  June 10, 2011

Summer in Rhode Island traditionally means exploring the state, getting sunburned, and ironically (but totally seriously) drinking Mike’s Hard Lemonade. But now that meals-on-wheels mania has over-taken the capital city, it also means chasing down every food truck in town. Korean BBQ, vegan treats, hot dogs — any grub you require, there’s almost certainly a truck peddling it. (Be wary of any “free candy” truck, though.) These are the gems of this growing biz. If you’re already a regular at these places, sorry for the bigger line this time tomorrow. If you’re a rook, enjoy.

More than 50 percent of property in the city of Boston — state buildings, church grounds, college campuses, etc. — is tax exempt. These charts, stats, and graphs illustrate Boston’s property tax addiction: rising costs, a declining real estate market, and state restrictions on how much cash the city can collect.
